walking up to the battleship, the picture doesn't do it justice. The battleship is over two football fields long. Also a tomahawk cruise missile is seen on the ground.

Walked to the far end of the dock. Each LINK in the chain that holds each anchor up weighs in at 110 pounds.

The Iowa class battleships had the biggest guns ever put on ships. Capable of firing a 1500 pound weapon over 23 miles. Each barrel can fire ever 30 seconds.

Shot looking at the 16 inch guns. Of note here is the battleship still has the original teak deck that it was outfitted with in 1941. The deck was made of teak because they were afraid of sparks coming off a metal deck and igniting gunpower kegs

Tight sleeping quarters on this ship. Over 1000 men manned this ship. Over 2000 manned the ship before the modernization done in 1984 when President Ronald Reagan had the ships restored from mothballs.
